Regular biography
Seongsu Kim is a Faculty member in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at KAIST. Their research focuses on Mechanical Engineering, with specific interests in composite structural analysis and design, energy conversion and storage systems, and manufacturing technology for composite materials. They are associated with the mdam research lab, which explores composite-based machine components for applications in automobile, aerospace, shipbuilding, and robotics. The lab also investigates shape memory polymer composite actuators and vanadium redox flow battery systems. Additionally, they are involved in projects related to lithium-sulfur structural battery composite materials and their manufacturing processes.
