Kyung Soo Kim

Prof. Kyung Soo Kim is a Faculty member in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at KAIST. His research focuses on Mechanical Engineering, with specific interests in motor control, battery management systems, mobility, and robotics. His work includes developing high-efficiency PMSM drives, battery state-of-charge estimation, and control systems for autonomous driving and legged robots. Prof. Kim is also involved in various research projects, including AI-based training simulations and hydrogen fuel-cell tractor development. His laboratory, the Mechatronics Systems and Control Laboratory, is dedicated to intelligent mechanical systems through integrated design, advanced control, and smart automation.
