Sung Ju Lee

Sung-Ju Lee is a Faculty member in the School of Electrical Engineering at KAIST. He holds the title of KAIST Endowed Chair Professor and leads the Mobile Intelligence & Interaction Lab. His research interests include mobile computing, AI, HCI, ubiquitous computing, IoT, and network security. Dr. Lee received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2000. He has published extensively in top-tier conferences and journals, with over 18,000 citations and an h-index of 60. He has also been recognized with several awards, including the HP CEO Innovation Award and best paper awards at ACM CHI 2025, ACM CSCW 2021, and IEEE ICDCS 2015. He has served in leadership roles at major conferences such as ACM MobiCom 2014 and IEEE INFOCOM 2016.

Sung-Ju Lee is a researcher with expertise in Mobile Computing, Mobile AI, Human-Computer Interaction, Network Security, and Networking. Their work focuses on improving routing protocols in ad hoc networks, including split multipath routing, on-demand multicast routing, and mobility prediction. Lee has also explored network security, malware detection, and QoS control in network convergence. Their research addresses challenges in wireless networks, such as transmission power control, channel bonding, and the capture effect. Additionally, they have contributed to the design and evaluation of routing protocols for multihop wireless networks, emphasizing scalability and performance.
