Regular biography
Mincheol Shin is a faculty member in the School of Electrical Engineering at KAIST. His research focuses on computational nanoelectronics, with an emphasis on device modeling and simulations, particularly nanoscale transistors. He leads the Computational Nanoelectronics Laboratory, where the team employs quantum mechanical approaches to study electron, phonon, and spin transport phenomena. The lab conducts millions-atom simulations and utilizes high-performance computing and machine learning to accelerate scientific computations. Shin has been involved in several notable research activities, including the acceptance of his paper at the 71st IEEE International Electron Devices Meeting (IEDM) and an invited talk at the 2025 SISPAD Workshop.
