Sung Ju Hwang is an associate professor in the Kim Jaechul Graduate School of Artificial Intelligence and School of Computing at KAIST. Prior to joining KAIST, he was an assistant professor at the School of Electric and Computer Engineering at UNIST and a postdoctoral research associate at Disney Research. He earned his Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Texas at Austin, where he worked under the supervision of Professor Kristen Grauman and collaborated with Professor Fei Sha. His research focuses on generative AIs, self-evolving AI, AI for scientific discovery, and on-device learning. He is also the CEO of DeepAuto, a company developing self-evolving agentic AI platforms.
