Mi Hee Lim is a researcher at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) specializing in Bioinorganic Chemistry, with a focus on Metalloneurochemistry and Biocatalysis. Her work explores the role of metal ions in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, particularly through the study of metal-associated amyloid-β species and their toxicity mechanisms. She investigates the development of multifunctional molecules and fluorescent probes for detecting metal ions and neurotoxic agents in biological systems. Her research also includes the characterization of nonheme iron complexes and their reactivity, as well as the design of small molecules that modulate metal-induced protein aggregation. Lim's contributions span both structural and functional studies of metalloproteins and their implications in disease pathology.
