Regular biography
Ahmed Badruzzaman is a Professional Faculty member in the Business School (BUS) at the University of California, Berkeley. His research interests include Sustainability. Dr. Badruzzaman is an energy scientist with contributions in research, development, and deployment of nuclear, petroleum technologies, and small energy systems suitable for developing countries. He earned a Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering and Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1979. After retiring from industrial research in 2012, he has focused on exploring novel nuclear techniques to support the low-carbon energy transition and educating the younger generation through teaching the course Energy and Civilization at UC Berkeley.
