Regular biography
Jean-Philippe Brantut is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). His research focuses on quantum optics, quantum simulation, strongly correlated Fermions, cavity quantum electrodynamics, and mesoscopic physics. He leads the Laboratory for Quantum Gases at EPFL, where his group develops cold atoms machines combining Fermi gases with cavity-quantum electrodynamics to explore new ways of measuring and manipulating quantum matter. Brantut's work includes quantum simulation applications and has been recognized through various awards, including the ERC Starting Grant and the Latsis University prize. He teaches courses in atomic, molecular physics and optics, and quantum optics and quantum information at EPFL.
