Samy Bengio

Samy Bengio is an Adjunct Professor in the CS department at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne. His research interests include algorithms of learning, automatic speech processing, person authentication, multimodal processing, sequence processing, neural networks, support vector machines, hidden Markov models, and Gaussian mixture models. He is a senior researcher at IDIAP, where he supervises doctoral and postdoctoral researchers in various machine learning domains. His work spans theoretical and applied aspects of machine learning, with applications in finance, economics, and telecommunications. He is also involved in the development of the Torch library for learning algorithms.
