Pierre Bremaud

Pierre Bremaud is a Professor Emeritus at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Department of CS. He holds a doctorate in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley and a Doctorate ès Sciences Mathématiques from the University of Paris 6. His research interests include the theory of stochastic processes, particularly point processes and queueing systems, and their applications in communication networks, risk analysis, and discrete-event systems. He has contributed to the development of stochastic models for traffic analysis and risk assessment. He teaches at EPFL and has directed PhD theses, including those of Andrea Ridolfi.
