Haitham Al Hassanieh

Haitham Al Hassanieh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne. His research focuses on intelligent systems, communications, and artificial intelligence, with an emphasis on developing systems to address real-world challenges in communication, signal processing, and imaging. He teaches courses such as Intelligent Systems: Communications & AI and Mobile Networks, where students collaborate on projects and develop prototypes. Al Hassanieh also supervises doctoral students and holds leadership roles within the Institute of Computer Science, including membership in the doctoral program committee and the Conference of Directors of Sections.

Haitham Hassanieh is an associate professor whose research focuses on Computer Systems, Algorithms, Computer Networks, Wireless Communication, and Sparse Recovery. His work explores innovative solutions for secure and efficient communication systems, including non-invasive security for medical devices, low-power backscatter networks, and inaudible voice commands. Hassanieh also investigates sparse Fourier transform algorithms for applications in signal processing and millimeter wave communications. His research addresses challenges in wireless energy transfer, high-resolution imaging, and secure RFID systems. Additionally, he develops techniques for detecting hidden eavesdroppers and improving the reliability of distributed wireless architectures.
