Claude Petitpierre is a Professor Emeritus at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), affiliated with the CS department. His research and teaching focus on programming internet environments, software engineering, and Web development tools. He has directed multiple PhD theses at EPFL and developed educational projects such as WebLang, an environment for building web applications, and synchronous objects for multi-process applications. His teaching includes courses on Internet programming and software engineering, where students design realistic applications such as a stock management system and a distributed version of the Monopoly game.
