Yoon Seok Kim

Yoon Seok Kim is a Tenure Track Assistant Professor in the Department of BIO at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne. His research integrates structural and functional studies, protein engineering, and cell/molecular biology to address challenges in neuroscience, with a focus on optogenetics and cancer neuroscience. He holds a Ph.D. in Bioengineering from Stanford University and previously served as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Neurology at Stanford University. His work includes contributions to understanding ion selectivity in potassium-selective channelrhodopsins and the structural basis for channel conduction in pump-like channelrhodopsins.
