Regular biography

Nicolas Thomä is a Full Professor at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), affiliated with the Department of Biology (BIO). His research focuses on protein machines and their reprogramming through small molecules, with an emphasis on structural biology and chemical biology. Thomä teaches courses such as BIO-624 and BIOENG-510, which explore recombinant protein expression, purification, and drug discovery. He holds the Paternot Chair in Cancer Research and is associated with the UPTHOMAE laboratory. His work has been recognized through various awards, including the Otto Naegeli Prize and ERC grants.
