Regular biography
Johannes Gräff is an Associate Professor at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), affiliated with the BIO department. His research focuses on neuroepigenetic mechanisms regulating learning and memory, with a particular interest in the genetic causes of aging and behavior. Gräff completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Lausanne, followed by a M.Sc. thesis on aging in ants under Laurent Keller. He earned his Ph.D. in Neurosciences from ETHZ, specializing in neuroepigenetics under Isabelle Mansuy. Gräff held a postdoctoral position at MIT under Li-Huei Tsai, where he explored the role of epigenetic machinery in cognitive decline and memory. He joined EPFL in 2013 as an assistant professor and was promoted to associate professor in 2020. Gräff is also involved in teaching and doctoral supervision at EPFL.
